Kitchen Remodel – Worcester, MA (Early 1900’s Home)
This kitchen remodel in a charming early 1900’s Worcester home beautifully blends modern upgrades with original features, preserving the home’s historic character.
Restoration and Custom Details:
We started by uncovering and refinishing the original hardwood floors, which had been hidden beneath layers of old flooring. The home's original beadboard wainscoting, found behind outdated wood paneling, was also carefully restored to maintain its historic charm. Custom trim work was crafted to seamlessly match the existing woodwork throughout the home, enhancing its authentic appeal. For lighting, we installed modern, energy-efficient recessed LED lighting, adding a sleek touch while brightening the space.
Cabinetry and Countertops:
The kitchen now features Wolf Classic Dartmouth style cabinets, constructed from all plywood for durability. The cabinets are made of maple wood and finished in a contemporary grey stain, with full-overlay doors for a clean, cohesive look. All cabinets come with soft-close doors and drawers, and under-cabinet lighting was installed to illuminate the countertops.
For the countertops, we selected elegant Tropical Brown Granite, which adds warmth and sophistication to the space. The backsplash features 3x6” tiles accented by a decorative mosaic listel, adding a stylish, custom touch.
Sink, Faucet, and Appliances:
We installed a Delta Brilliance Stainless Kate Pull-Out Spray Faucet with Touch Clean Technologies, paired with a durable Kazza undermount kitchen sink for both style and practicality. The kitchen is equipped with new stainless steel appliances, including a gas cooktop, blending modern convenience with timeless design.
This remodel honors the original craftsmanship of the home while introducing modern upgrades for a functional, stylish kitchen that suits today’s needs.
